Pikes Peak 2028

Sponsor the Programme

A four-person team from Estonia building a bespoke internal combustion car to challenge the overall record at Pikes Peak. The programme is real. If your brand fits, let’s talk.

What This Is

Oldbac is building a bespoke internal combustion prototype to compete at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in the Unlimited class. The current overall record—7:57.148—was set by a factory-backed electric vehicle. The car is being engineered to challenge it.

The car exists. It is called Kalana. Three lap records, Pininfarina wind tunnel validation, and a next-generation prototype in development. Everything is designed and developed in Estonia by a team of four. This is not a concept. The work is underway.

Programme Credibility

Three circuit lap records set at individual events in 2023 and 2024. Full-scale aerodynamic validation at Pininfarina, Torino. Coverage by ERR News, Carrozzieri Italiani, and BaTCC. An independent Wikipedia entry.

Sponsors associate with verified results, not plans. The car exists, the records are public, and the programme is progressing.

What Sponsors Receive

Car branding

Livery placement on the competition and development car. Visible in all track, test, and wind tunnel media.

Team apparel & transporter

Logo on team clothing, workshop gear, and vehicle transporter.

Website & digital

Presence on oldbac.com with link, description, and partner classification.

Social & video content

Integration into test-day footage, development updates, and behind-the-scenes content published across social channels.

Journal & engineering content

Inclusion in journal entries, development stories, and engineering case studies. Products shown in context of real use.

Press & media

Named in press releases, media coverage, and editorial features about the programme.

Wind tunnel & simulation

Exclusive wind tunnel footage and CFD imagery. Development data shared where appropriate for case study use.

Test-day & workshop access

Attend track test days and workshop visits. Photo and video content from these sessions available for sponsor use.

Communications Value

The programme generates technical content continuously: wind tunnel data, track testing, workshop builds, aerodynamic correlation, simulation work. For sponsors in adjacent technical categories, the association is specific and credible.

The Pikes Peak International Hill Climb draws significant global broadcast and editorial attention. An Unlimited class entry from a small Estonian team with an ICE car targeting the overall record is a story with clear narrative value.

The Team

Tõnis Vanaselja
Founder
Started the programme self-taught, building the first car without factory support. Has led every phase of Oldbac’s development over the past decade — from the initial concept through Pininfarina wind tunnel validation and three circuit lap records. Owns commercial strategy, programme direction, and sponsor relationships.
Jaagup Laaser
Head Engineer
Trained mechanical engineer with motorsport programme experience. Responsible for the complete technical scope of the Kalana and Tahkuna programmes — suspension geometry, powertrain integration, and mechanical systems. Primary liaison with external specialists including composites partners, simulation providers, and measurement suppliers.
Sven Sellik
Designer
Autodesk Alias specialist who has been with the project since the concept phase. Responsible for surface design, aerodynamic geometry, and all external body development. Translated the programme’s engineering requirements into the physical forms validated at Pininfarina. Leads visual and industrial design for Tahkuna.
Enriko Stein
Mechanic
The hands of the programme. Builds and maintains all mechanical systems on the car and manages workshop operations. Brings experience from the Formula Renault era of the programme and is responsible for everything from pre-event preparation through trackside support. If the car runs, it runs because of Enriko.

Behind them: external specialists in F1 aerodynamics, carbon fibre composites manufacturing, and driver-in-the-loop simulation.

Sponsorship FAQ

What kinds of sponsors are you looking for?

Brands, organisations, and individuals with a genuine interest in motorsport engineering, advanced manufacturing, or the Pikes Peak programme. We are not seeking volume advertisers. We are looking for partners whose involvement adds value to the programme and whose story benefits from association with it.

Are you open to technical partnerships as well as financial sponsors?

Yes. Technical partnerships—where a company contributes products, services, or expertise relevant to the programme—are as valuable as financial sponsorship. Many of our existing “Built With” partners work on exactly this basis.

Can sponsorship be tailored?

All partnerships are structured individually. The tiers on this page describe typical scope and integration level, not rigid packages. The specific deliverables and terms are discussed and agreed during the enquiry process.

Do you offer category exclusivity?

For title and principal partners, category exclusivity is available and can be discussed during the partnership process. It depends on the category and the level of involvement.

Is the car already running?

Yes. The Kalana prototype is fully operational and has competed at individual events across 2023 and 2024, setting three circuit lap records. It currently operates as a development mule, generating data for the Tahkuna Pikes Peak prototype.

What is the current phase of the programme?

The Kalana development mule is in active testing. The Tahkuna Pikes Peak prototype is in the design and engineering phase. The target is a 2028 race entry in the Unlimited class.

Are there opportunities linked to Pikes Peak specifically?

Yes. Sponsors can be associated with the competition car, race-week presence, and all Pikes Peak-specific media and content. The Hill Climb is the programme’s primary competitive objective.

Can international sponsors get involved?

Yes. The team is based in Estonia but the programme operates internationally. Wind tunnel testing took place in Italy. The target event is in the United States. International partnerships are welcome.

What happens after I send an enquiry?
